Hi Jettaspop, my name is Felipe Lucas, Independent Advisor and Microsoft Windows user like you.
I'll be happy to help you.

Please take a look at the article below:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/res...

Refer to this part: If you don't see "I forgot my PIN", select Sign-in options and then select Enter your password.

If it's also not possible to select your password as a sign-in option, and the 2 hours wait have passed and you still can't log in, refer to this article:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/tro...

If the answer helped in any way, consider leaving your opinion, marking it as answered or leaving more details, so that we can continue the service, this is very important for us.

Hello Felipe Lucas, thank you for your reply.

The issue that I am having is that my computer will not let me wait out the 2 hour cycle to put in my PIN again. It will take me back to the screen before the log in after about 30 seconds, after which I will have to reenter the challenge phrase and my pin.

Could you send screenshots of the PIN screen and the challenge phrase screen?

Apologies for the delay in reply. I've taken pictures of the screen as I cannot get into the computer to send screenshots. I hope that is alright

It was supposed to appear "other sign-in options" or "forgot my pin", but it doesn't.
It may be best if I release your question to other advisors, so they can take a look at it and share some other ways that can fix the issue.

Why not just walk away and wait 2 hours or more. Or you should be able to select Power > Shutdown in the bottom right hand corner of the sign-in screen.

Then power on and try again.

I would simply wait the two hours if I could but the issue that I'm having is my computer won't let me. After about a minute it will take me back to the screen before the log in and I will have to reenter the challenge phrase and my pin and get the message telling me to wait again. I've found that holding down a key (any key) prevents this from happening but only for about 15 minutes and not the full 2 hours.

Sorry I don't quite understand. What stops you leaving it at the challenge screen for 2 hours? Or even just power off until you are ready to try again.

But you will probably need to know your challenge phrase.
